A bit more about me

My mother was born in Saint Petersburg with Russian Jewish descent and my father comes from Smoljan – a town in the Rhodope Mountains where I spent a big part of my early childhood skiing. My love for skiing eventually became a profession and until the age of 24 I spent most of my life travelling the world and racing with the Bulgarian Alpine Ski Team.

After several years of competing in the Alpine Ski World Cup and scoring a 23rd place at the Olympics in Sochi 2014 I decided to quit professional sport and started a rock’n’roll band called Chongi & the Smokers.

Two years passed by, playing music, working occasional jobs and finishing my Leadership and Management Bachelor Degree from the Open University, UK. Becoming familiar with the real world outside ski racing, I found myself struggling to find my way. Eventually, in the spring of 2016 I decided it’s about time to spike up the adrenaline level once again.

My next quest was to make a comeback to professional sport and race the Ski Cross at the 2018 Olympics in South Korea. I acquired funding through crowdfunding and private sponsorship and had amazing two years discovering the world of Ski Cross. I was training alone, without a coach or a team and was close to making the cut for the Olympics, but ultimately could not achieve the goal. This failure, however, has made me even more motivated to make it inside top 32 in the Ski Cross World Cup during the upcoming 2018/2019 season!
If there is one thing I wish you could take home from visiting my website it would be the desire and motivation to do more of the things you love and make you happy.

Have a colorful day!
